Known during the time of Lorenzo the Magnificent under the name of Biriquocoli, cavallucci are one of the most traditional sweets of Siena. Obtained from the artisanal processing of excellent-quality ingredients including flour, candied fruit, sugar, nuts, honey, coriander and aniseed. We make sure that our ingredients are always fresh and come from the best farms. Every single cavalluccio is skilfully kneaded and worked by hand by our pastry chefs. When it has obtained the desired shape, the cavalluccio is ready to be baked. Once cooled, the cavallucci can be packaged in sealed, food-grade bags. The consistency of cavallucci is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dessert has a strong aftertaste of aniseed and candied fruit on the palate.
