These amaretti with orange are soft desserts obtained from the artisanship of excellent-quality ingredients. First of all, the almonds: sweet and bitter, originating in Italy, mainly from Apulia, soft, tasty and rich in the essential oils that define their aroma. The taste of orange is conferred by using what nature provides: the honey of the orange blossoms that bloom on the slopes of Etna and the peel of sweet oranges, also Sicilian, processed with the traditional tank candying system. This requires you to wait almost two weeks before tasting the soft candy, with an enveloping taste that preserves all the fragrances contained in the peel which will then be released into the amaretto. The distinctive bitter aftertaste is instead conferred by a skilfully balanced, small quantity of bitter almonds. Each individual amaretto is shaped by hand, then gently browned in the oven, sprinkled with icing sugar to help keep it soft inside, cooled and packaged in sealed food trays and then placed in decorated cardboard boxes.
